Director General of JSC NIIAS
Dear participants of the Conference!
I would like to congratulate you on the opening of the XI International Conference «Safety and Security Systems on Transport» in hospitable Ljubljana.
Over the past 10 years, Conference has become an authoritative international platform for discussing topical issues, exchanging best practices and demonstrating advanced developments as well as new ideas in field of transportation safety and security.
The relevance of the issues on the Conference agenda is extremely high. The current stage of transport development is characterized by a growing level of potential cyber threats that can disrupt the safe operation of traffic control systems and significantly reduce the survivability of the entire transportation process.
Application of innovative technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), high-speed data transmission networks, Big Data technologies, intelligent control systems and mobile applications, along with great advantages for the transport development, brings new threats for its safety and security.
Therefore, it is extremely important that transport digitalization should be accompanied by a careful study of attendant hazards and consequences, as well as the search for new methods for ensuring the transport safety in the rapidly changing paradigm of its functioning.
I hope that the Conference will help to achieve a common understanding of the challenges we are facing in the field of security and the development of common approaches to their solution.
I wish all participants of the Conference fruitful work and new ideas!
